# Games

> Twenty-three games your members play in chat — quick races everyone can join plus 1v1 duels, with points, Game Coin, a perk store and per-game card design. Free on every tier.

Twenty-three games your members play in the channel, with points, coin and XP for winning.

<Note>
  Games must be enabled in [Server Setup](/en/server-management/setup). Everything below can be configured while it is off — a banner is the only warning.

## The games

Twenty of the twenty-three are **quick games**: one prompt, everyone races, the first correct answer wins.

| Game | You answer by | What it asks |

The other three are **duels** — head to head, with an optional knockout bracket.

| Duel                    | How it works                                 |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |

| **Connect Four** | 5x5, first to line up four |
| **Rock Paper Scissors** | Picks are taken in secret, best of 1, 3 or 5 |

<Note>
  **A game can be unavailable in your language.** Plural and Singular ask for a change that Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese do not make; Complete the Word and Correct Spelling need words long enough to hide a letter in, which Chinese has none of and Korean has few.

  This is deliberate, not a gap waiting to be filled — those games are simply not offered there, and `/game` will not suggest them.

  **23 games** in Arabic, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Kurdish, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian. **21** in Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese. **20** in Korean. **19** in Chinese.
</Note>

## Where games run

By default games run **only in the channels you link** — with none linked, nothing runs anywhere. Switch to *anywhere* if you would rather not manage a list.

| Starter   | Basic | Max | Black     |
| --------- | ----- | --- | --------- |
| 1 channel | 2     | 3   | Unlimited |

You can also restrict **who may play** and **who may start a game** by role. A blocked role always wins over an allowed one.

## Round settings

Every game is configured on its own page, so one game can be worth more than another.

| Setting            | Range    | Default                                 |
| ------------------ | -------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Time limit**     | 5-300s   | 30s (45s Tic-Tac-Toe, 60s Connect Four) |
| **Points per win** | 0-1,000  | 1                                       |
| **Coin per win**   | 0-100    | 5                                       |
| **Cooldown**       | 0-3,600s | Inherits the server's 5s                |

Server-wide:

| Setting                                | Range    | Default      |
| -------------------------------------- | -------- | ------------ |
| **Games at once per channel**          | 1-10     | 3            |
| **Delete game messages after**         | 0-3,600s | 0, keep them |
| **Announce wins**                      | on/off   | On           |
| **Reveal the answer when nobody wins** | on/off   | On           |

<Note>
  Two rounds of the *same* game never run side by side, and one member may only have one round of their own open — regardless of the number above.
</Note>

## Events

`/event` plays a programme of games one after another. An empty programme means a short random selection of quick games.

| Setting               | Range  | Default |
| --------------------- | ------ | ------- |
| **Gap between games** | 3-120s | 8s      |
| **Target score**      | 0-40   | 0       |

**Target score 0** is the default and means the programme plays once and nobody wins the event itself. Above 0 it becomes a **race**: games cycle, and the first member to that many round wins takes the event.

## Duels

A duel opens a join window, then plays. With more than two players it runs a seeded knockout to a single champion.

| Setting          | Range   | Default   |
| ---------------- | ------- | --------- |
| **Join window**  | 10-120s | 30s       |
| **Bracket size** | by tier | see below |

| Starter   | Basic | Max | Black |
| --------- | ----- | --- | ----- |
| 4 players | 8     | 16  | 32    |

<Note>
  A drawn game is **replayed**, never decided by a coin toss, and the first move alternates each replay. Only after four drawn attempts is the seat drawn by lot — and it is said to be drawn by lot.
</Note>

Two players can also stake Vito on a duel. See [Prize Matches](/en/engagement/prize-matches).

## Game Coin

Game Coin is earned by winning and spent in the [perk store](#the-perk-store). It buys perks and nothing else, and it never becomes Vito or real money.

Paid tiers earn more from the same win:

| Starter | Basic | Max  | Black |
| ------- | ----- | ---- | ----- |
| 100%    | 100%  | 150% | 200%  |

**Gifting** is on by default — `/coins gift` sends coin to another member. A server can switch it off, or cap how much one member may send per day.

| Setting              | Range       | Default |
| -------------------- | ----------- | ------- |
| **Gifts allowed**    | on/off      | On      |
| **Daily gift limit** | 0-1,000,000 | 5,000   |

<Note>
  The daily limit bounds one compromised account, not ordinary play — a stolen session can move a day's worth, not a lifetime's.
</Note>

## The perk store

Perks are bought with Game Coin during a round, or from a duel's lobby. Prices are yours to set, and any perk can be switched off.

| Perk               | Default price | Where             | Notes                                                                        |
| ------------------ | ------------- | ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Boost**          | 60            | Any game          | Doubles what your win pays. Up to 5 a day                                    |
| **Hint** | 40 | 8 games | A clue that narrows without answering. Costs you 5 seconds of your own round |
| **Extra Time** | 30 | Timed quick games | Adds 10 seconds **for everyone**. Once per round |
| **Best of Three** | 70 | Duels | The loser may buy one more chance, and the winner has to accept |
| **Challenge Call** | 20            | Duels             | Pings your games role. Once every 30 minutes, server-wide                    |
| **Victory Flair** | 40 | Any game | Changes how your win is announced. Cosmetic only |

<Note>
  A price of **0 means free**, which is a different thing from switching the perk off. Both are available.
</Note>

<Tip>
  No perk can buy a better chance of beating another player. Hint costs the buyer time, Extra Time is given to everyone, and Boost only changes what a win you already earned pays out.
</Tip>

## Leaderboard

Standings come from one place, so `/leaderboard` and the pinned leaderboard post can never disagree about who is winning.

Set a leaderboard channel and Vetox keeps a pinned post there up to date. There is no dashboard leaderboard page. Resetting points is `/points-reset`.

## XP

Winning also pays XP into your server's normal [Leveling](/en/engagement/leveling) economy.

| Setting          | Range     | Default |
| ---------------- | --------- | ------- |
| **XP per win**   | 0-500     | 5       |
| **Daily XP cap** | 0-100,000 | 500     |

<Note>
  The daily cap resets on **your server's own leveling reset**, not at UTC midnight.
</Note>

## Card design

Each game draws its own card, and each game is designed separately — Guess the Flag can look nothing like Fast Type.

Everyone can pick one of four templates and set the accent colour, title, timer and footer. On **Basic** and above you can upload a background and place the elements on it yourself.

<Info>
  Custom layouts require **Basic**.
</Info>

| Starter | Basic | Max       | Black     |
| ------- | ----- | --------- | --------- |
| 0 games | 3     | Unlimited | Unlimited |
