# XP events

> Run temporary double-XP periods to boost activity. Free on every tier.

A Double XP weekend, a boost during a launch, or a burst of activity before a reset. XP Events live on the **XP Event** tab of the [Leveling](/en/engagement/leveling) page.

## Starting one

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose what it applies to">
    Text and voice, text only, or voice only.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a duration">
    Between **1 minute and 7 days**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a multiplier">
    **1.5×, 2×, 2.5×, 3×, 4× or 5×** — these six values only.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start it">
    It begins immediately.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  **One event at a time.** Trying to start a second while one is running is refused.
</Note>

## How the multiplier combines

<Warning>
  Multipliers do not stack. The event multiplier competes with any role and channel multipliers and **the highest one wins**.

  A 2× event does nothing for a member already sitting on a 3× role multiplier.
</Warning>

The event is applied last, after every eligibility check — excluded roles, excluded channels and cooldowns all still apply.

## While it runs

The page switches to a live view: a countdown, the multiplier, the scope, and a **Stop Event** button.

Six statistics update as it runs:

|              |                    |
| ------------ | ------------------ |
| Total XP     | Text XP            |
| Voice XP     | Messages           |
| Participants | Average per member |

Two charts break down the XP source and the top contributors, alongside a table of the top members with their message and voice figures.

<Tip>
  Announce the event. A boost nobody knows about produces the same numbers as no boost at all — the value is in the turnout, which the Participants figure will show you honestly.
</Tip>

## Stopping early

**Stop Event** ends the boost immediately. Its statistics are kept.

## History

Past events are listed as cards. Each opens a full detail page with the same statistics and leaderboard, plus how long it ran and whether it ended on its timer or was stopped manually.

<Note>
  An event that ran to its timer records the length you scheduled, not the moment the system happened to close it out.
</Note>

Events can be deleted from the history individually.

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Members say they are not getting extra XP">
    Check the event's scope covers what they are doing — a text-only event does nothing in voice. Then check for a role or channel multiplier higher than the event's.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I cannot start an event">
    One is already running. Stop it first.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The participant count looks low">
    It counts members who actually earned XP during the window, not members online. Excluded channels and roles do not contribute.
