# Name Customization

> Colours, gradients and fonts for your name on your cards.

## What this actually changes

<Warning>
  Name customization changes how your name is **drawn on your profile card and rank card images**. It does **not** change your Discord nickname, and it does not appear on your [public web profile](/en/members/profile).

Colour and font are equipped **independently** — you can run a gradient name in the default font, or a plain white name in an exotic one.

## Fonts

**31 fonts**, from free to 12,000 Vito.

Every card in the grid shows **your own name** in that font, so what you see is what your card will look like.

## Colours

<Note>
  Solid colours are **flat-priced at 1,000 Vito**. The Common / Rare / Epic / Legendary labels are prestige only — a Legendary solid costs exactly the same as a Common one. Rarity does affect gradient and font pricing.

Gradients are drawn horizontally across the width of your name, with the stops spread evenly.

<Note>
  Custom colours cost **more** than the equivalent preset. You are paying for a bespoke value, not a cheaper route to the same result.

Rules:

* Every stop must be a full **6-digit hex code**. Shorthand like `#F00`, `rgb()` values and colour names are rejected
* The number of colours must **exactly match** the type you paid for — you cannot submit three stops as a two-stop gradient
* A custom colour equips itself as soon as it is created

<Tip>
  If you create a colour identical to one you already own — including the free White — you are **not charged**. It simply equips the one you have and tells you so.

## Ownership is per-surface

  **Buying a colour here unlocks it for your name only.**

  The identical swatch appears on [Profile Customization](/en/members/profile-customization) and [Rank Customization](/en/members/rank-customization) for the XP bars, and each is a separate 1,000 Vito purchase. Nothing in the interface indicates this, so budget accordingly.

## Preview

The Preview button renders a real, full-resolution card. It has its own **Profile Card / Rank Card** tabs so you can check the style on both before committing.

  Unlike the preview dialogs on the other two customisation pages, the theme switch here is preview-only and does not save.

Previews work on items you do not own.

## Buying

Purchases require your [Vito PIN](/en/members/vito) and appear in your transaction history. Equipping is free.

  Three wrong PIN attempts lock your Vito account and send you an email.

## Troubleshooting

    It never will. This only affects the card images from `/profile` and `/rank`, not your nickname.

    Every stop needs a full 6-digit hex code, and the stop count must match the type you selected.

  <Accordion title="The page says no items are available">
    This also appears when the catalogue fails to load. Refresh the page.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Every font looks the same">
    The font previews load from an external font service. If that request is blocked, all the swatches fall back to your system font. Try a different network or disable a blocking extension.
