# Rank Customization

> Backgrounds and XP bar colours for your rank card.

## Where it shows up

Your rank card is the image produced by the `/rank` command in Discord. It shows your avatar, your name, and **two** progress bars — one for text XP and one for voice XP.

  Nothing on this page appears anywhere on the web. The rank card exists only in Discord and in this page's own preview.

## Backgrounds

**46 backgrounds**, from **42 to 140 Vito**. None are free.

<Tip>
  Rank backgrounds are substantially cheaper than profile backgrounds, which run 75 to 500 Vito. If you are starting out, this is the better first purchase.

<Warning>
  The theme switch inside the preview dialog **saves permanently** — it changes your real rank card theme, not just the preview.
</Warning>

## XP bar colours

The same 61-colour palette as everywhere else, plus a free **Default**.

### Design your own

Each stop must be a full 6-digit hex code, and the number of colours must match the type you paid for.

  One colour drives both bars — you cannot set text and voice to different colours.

## Ownership is per-surface

  **Buying a colour here unlocks it for your rank bars only.** The same swatch on [Profile Customization](/en/members/profile-customization) and [Name Customization](/en/members/name-customization) is a separate purchase each time.

Rank backgrounds and profile backgrounds are two separate catalogues. Owning one does nothing for the other.

## Buying

Purchases require your [Vito PIN](/en/members/vito) and appear in your transaction history. Equipping is free.

## Troubleshooting

    Inventories are per-surface. Buying it again is required to use it here.

    If you own a preset and have also created a custom colour with exactly the same hex code, both cards mark themselves active. Only one is applied — they are the same colour, so the card looks correct either way.

  <Accordion title="My rank card theme changed unexpectedly">
    The preview dialog's theme switch saves immediately. Open a preview and set it back.

  <Accordion title="Where is the /level command?">
    There isn't one. `/rank` is the only command that renders your card.
