# Reputation

> Endorse other members with typed reputation — eight traits, three per day, with anti-abuse rules.

Reputation is a member-to-member endorsement. It appears on your [public profile](/en/members/profile) and ranks the [Most Liked](/en/account/most-liked) leaderboard.

## The limits

| Rule                             | Value                |
| -------------------------------- | -------------------- |
| Different people you can endorse | **3 per 24 hours**   |
| The same person | Once per 24 hours |
| Your account age | At least **90 days** |

<Note>
  There is no dashboard page for reputation. It is given with a command and displayed on profiles.
</Note>

<Tip>
  These limits are why the reputation leaderboard moves slowly. Climbing it needs sustained goodwill from many different people — a small group of friends cannot push someone up it.
</Tip>

## Opting out

Members can switch reputation off in their privacy settings. Blocking works in both directions: neither party can endorse the other.

## When it is refused

<Warning>
  **Every rejection produces the same message** — "Could not give reputation. Try again."

  The actual cause is one of four, and the message does not tell you which:

  1. You have already endorsed 3 people today
  2. You have already endorsed *that* person today
  3. Your account is under 90 days old
  4. They have reputation switched off, or one of you has blocked the other

  Work through them in that order.
</Warning>
