Creating a reply
1
Set the trigger
The text that fires the reply.
2
Choose text, embed, or both
A rule can carry either or both.
3
Write the response
Plain text, or build an embed.
4
Filter it (optional)
Restrict to specific channels or roles.
A rule can carry both text responses and embeds — they are not mutually exclusive, and adding one does not discard the other.
If the trigger or the response is empty, saving does nothing at all — no error, no confirmation. Fill in both.
Random responses
Give one trigger several possible responses and Vetox picks one at random each time. This switch shows as on when you open a new rule but is off until you save. Save the rule once to lock in whichever state you want.
Auto-delete
Removes the bot’s reply a few seconds after posting. Useful for a rule that fires often and would otherwise clutter the channel. There are two independent delays, each settable from 0 to 300 seconds: how long to wait before deleting the member’s triggering message, and how long before deleting Vetox’s reply.
Filters
Four lists, applied in this order:- Enabled channels — if set, the rule fires only in these
- Disabled channels — the rule never fires in these
- Enabled roles — if set, only members holding one of these trigger it
- Disabled roles — members holding one of these never trigger it
After a downgrade
Rules over your tier’s limit are disabled, not deleted, and come back when you upgrade.A disabled row has no Manage button, so it cannot be edited while it is over the limit. Delete a different rule to bring yourself under the cap first.
Troubleshooting
The trigger never fires
The trigger never fires
Check the exact casing, that the rule is enabled, that the channel is not excluded by the filter, and that Vetox can read and send messages in that channel.
Saving does nothing
Saving does nothing
A blank trigger or a blank response causes a silent no-op. Both are required.
I am on Max or Black but cannot delete a rule
I am on Max or Black but cannot delete a rule
A server that has accumulated more than 500 auto-replies hits a document-level cap on delete, and every delete then fails. Max and Black are advertised as unlimited and are unlimited in practice for creating rules; 500 is the point at which deletion breaks. Contact support if you reach it.
The trigger only fires when someone types it exactly
The trigger only fires when someone types it exactly
That is the default. A rule matches the whole message unless you switch its match type to includes, which matches anywhere inside a message.
It fires on messages I did not intend
It fires on messages I did not intend
The rule is set to match includes, so the trigger is found anywhere in the message —
hi fires on this. Use a longer phrase, or switch the rule back to exact matching.Auto-Interaction
React or reply to every message in a channel, without a trigger.
